Monochrome / Black and White Photography
Sometimes it seems as though many feel monochrome images are dull and lifeless. The colour in today’s digital photos can be exquisitely vibrant and hyper-saturated, while still being accurate. This does not detract in the slightest from the mystique of black and white images, nor our love for them. Monochrome images do not have the same aesthetic as colour. The emotional “feel” of a monochrome image is another thing entirely to that of colour.
When I am creating black and white images, I gladly revert to film cameras, and most of all, my favourite films! My favourites tend to be Ilford, but Kodak has films I like as well. Ilford PanF 50 is my all-time favourite.
